Introduction to ASME IX

Developed for Engineers, RWC’s and Welders who wish to understand the latest ASME IX standard for welding procedure qualification.

The course will cover this standard in detail, explaining how welding procedures and welder qualifications are developed, including aspects of mechanical testing and non-destructive testing (NDT), and how essential variables influence their application.

In-class practical exercises will demonstrate how to construct and review these procedures

Students will be provided with a editable qualification template to use during and after the course.

Examination

 End of course examination - 30 Question multiple choice - 70% pass mark

Students who fail to make the pass mark on their first attempt will be provided with feedback and pointers before they attempt a resit interview.
